All Grade 2 and 3 students will be attending a musical production on May 7th of Sarah's Adorable Musical Journey. Sarah T. Murdoch is a curious eight year old girl who isn't looking forward to her school field trip to the symphony. She is sure that M stands for Meh not Music. There are zero jellyfish at the Winspear Centre and not a single dinosaur. But could music be its own adventure? In this delightful introduction to the symphony, Sarah explores the big questions: What is music for? Where does it come from? Is fancy schmancy orchestra music really for everyone? Let your imagination be captivated by the ESC while following along on Sarah's Adorable Musical Journey.

Please bring a bagged lunch that does not require a heat up as no microwaves are available.

Students will leave @ 9 AM and return at the end of the day in time for buses.

Students will have the opportunity to choose between Field House activities, Swimming and Skating.  Students will choose one activity in the morning, break for lunch and then chose an activity for the afternoon.

Skating - students MUST bring skates and helmet.

Swimming - students MUST bring swimsuit and towel. 

Field House - students MUST bring athletic attire and indoor running shoes.

This field trip will be a whole day of fun.  The children will get to experience and learn about animals.  They will participate in a scavenger hunt and will explore and investigate what animals need to live and survive.  Please dress for the weather as this is an outside field trip.  A bag lunch that does not need heated up is required.

The children will be traveling by bus and will need to be at the school at 8:30 am in the morning and will be back at the school at approximately 3:00 pm in the afternoon.

Please note we do need some parent volunteers for this field trip.  If you are interested in going along we would require a valid Criminal Record check as well as a Child and Youth intervention check.  Please contact the office for how to obtain these checks.

This two day field trip brings science to life with educational activities that make learning a blast. Day one: Exploring the hoodoos, hands-on workshops, explore the museum gallery, supper in the museum, cast a museum fossil to take home, enjoy swimming, water sliding in the pool at the Drumheller Aquaplex. Night Accomodations in the world famous Dinosaur Hall - where you'll roll out your sleeping bag beside some of the biggest creatures to rule the Cretaceous. Day two Breakfast in the Museum cafeteria, more entertainment in the Museum auditorium visit Barney's Adventure Park for fun and lunch before heading home.

Bus leaves the school at 8:30 am sharp unfortunately we cannot wait for any late students

In accordance with school policy, students are to be on the bus and not driving with parents unless otherwise required through parent/teacher arrangements

We do require quite a number of parent volunteers for this event however there is a fee for all parents (as the museum charges us)  If you would like to volunteer please contact the school to ensure your volunteer documents are up to date.  All parents must drive (we do encourage car pooling)

The Students in Grade 3 will be attending a field trip to the Ukrainian Heritage Village on Thursday June 14, 2024
Students will need to come early on that day, arriving to school by 7:45 in order for us to leave by 8:00 am. We will be arriving back at the school in time for the after school buses at the end of the day. Students will be involved in activities which allow them to experience the rich heritage of the life of a pioneer in the early years of Alberta's history.

Students will need clothing appropriate for spending time outdoors in spring weather. They will be exploring the grounds through adult led self-discovery. Students who may be allergic to wheat and other grains should let their teacher know immediately. Students will need a bagged lunch and a water bottle clearly labeled with their name. There is no microwave available for heatups.

We will require quite a number of volunteers per class please contact you kathy.robinson@starcatholic.ab.ca to check if we do have your volunteer forms in order. We thank you in advance for your time

Grade 6's will be going on an all-day field trip to Telus World of Science.  Please ensure your child is on time for school as we will be leaving the school at 8:45  am right after morning announcements and unfortunately we cannot wait for late students.  In order to get the most out of our experience, we will return to school at 3:30 pm.  Please make arrangements to pick your child up at the school at 3:30 pm as WE WILL NOT BE BACK IN TIME FOR REGULAR BUSSING.
